VS Code workflow
Configure a productive .NET workspace and use the editor, terminal, debugger, and Azure tooling as one connected environment.
RM engineering workshop
Take one connected integration solution from first commit to production telemetry in two focused, hands-on half days.
Workshop overview
Build a practical reference solution using .NET 10, repeatable Azure infrastructure, focused unit tests, automated delivery, serverless processing, and production-ready observability.
Apply each concept directly instead of watching a disconnected demo.
Work with the same platform services and delivery practices used by the team.
Use integration scenarios aligned with the ERP replacement programme.
Curriculum
Each session combines concise guidance, instructor-led implementation, and time to apply the practices in RM's own development environment.
Thursday, 1 October
Foundations, tests, infrastructure, and automation.
Configure a productive .NET workspace and use the editor, terminal, debugger, and Azure tooling as one connected environment.
Describe Azure resources declaratively, review changes, and make environment creation consistent and repeatable.
Design testable boundaries and write focused tests that protect business behavior without coupling to platform plumbing.
Build readable YAML stages that restore, compile, test, publish results, and deploy the workshop solution.
Friday, 2 October
.NET 10 integration workloads in production.
Build modern .NET functions around triggers and bindings while keeping platform concerns at the edge.
Follow a request across components, query logs, inspect failures, and turn telemetry into an engineering tool.
Apply current guidance for solution structure, dependency injection, configuration, logging, async code, and error handling.
Use SOLID principles and explicit boundaries for ERP, Salesforce, warehouse, and partner integration flows.
Workshop outcomes
The exercises connect into a small but complete solution inside RM's Azure and Azure DevOps environment. The team keeps the code, infrastructure, pipelines, and telemetry to inspect, adapt, and extend.
Get ready
Participants need practical C# and Git experience, but no prior production experience with the workshop's Azure services.
Install the agreed C#, Azure, Bicep, Functions, and Azure Pipelines extensions.
Use a workshop resource group with permission to deploy and inspect resources.
Confirm repository, pipeline, log, and approved Azure service connection access.
Reach Azure, Azure DevOps, NuGet feeds, and all approved package endpoints.
